"FEV Motorentechnik developed within the scope of a research project an engine based on electromechanical valvetrain. Subject of the thesis in hand was the development of an adapti-ve air fuel ratio control in ASCET-SD to improve the behaviour of the actual control-unit of this engine. The main topic of the simulation phase in Matlab/Simulink was the optimization of the learning process of the adaptive part. Furthermore an additional PI controller is respon-sible for the control of high frequencies. The implementation of developed algorithms at the vehicle was succesfull. The control acura-cy comparing to the existing air fuel ratio control could be improved. The universal characteristics of the developed adaptive algorithms may be a basis for further applications concerning automation of identification"
