"Weight and waste reductions, the decline of storage, transport and set-up costs as well as the shortening of the time to market are possible results of additive manufacturing. Therefore, on the one hand, this work deals with the question whether it is possible to economically produce special tools for the automobile service by using additive manufacturing, but on the other hand with how to identify the tools that are considered for an additive manufacturing. Therefore, an evaluation logic is created which is used to evaluate special tools with regard to a possible additive manufacturing. This logic is applied to the special tools required in the service of the e.GO Life, thus selecting a use case for the cost-effectiveness of additive manufacturing. For this purpose, the manufacturing costs from conventional and additive manufacturing of the selected tool are compared and then derived into a recommendation for company e.GO Mobile AG."
